Mumbai, September 25: The new Samsung Galaxy M55s was recently launched in the Indian market with a starting price of INR 17,999. The South Korean tech giant offers the 5G handset in two variants - 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. The Galaxy M55s 5G will retail online via Amazon and Samsung.com along with select retail stores starting September 26 onwards. Here’s how the Samsung Galaxy M55s fare against its arch-rival, the iQoo Z9s in the mid-range segment.

Samsung’s new M-series handset, the Galaxy M55s sports a 6.7-inch AMOLED FHD+ display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,000 units of peak brightness. It packs Samsung’s Vision Booster technology for an enhanced viewing experience in bright outdoor conditions. iQoo Z9s, on the other hand, gets a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2392x1080 pixels.

Samsung offers the Galaxy M55s phone in two colours - Thunder Black and Coral Green. iQoo Z9s is available in two shades - Titanium Matte and Onyx Green. TECNO Pop 9 5G Launched in India.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy M55s gets a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC clubbed with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Vivo sub-brand uses a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 5G chipset on the phone, which is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.

As for optics, the Samsung Galaxy M55s has a vertically aligned triple rear camera setup comprising a 50MP primary shooter with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro sensor. Up front, there will be a 50MP snapper for selfies and video calls. iQoo Z9s packs a dual rear camera unit, which includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 with OIS and a 2MP bokeh lens. The front camera is a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calling.

The Samsung Galaxy M55s packs a 5,000 mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. It runs OneUI 5.0 based on Android 14 out-of-the-box. On the other hand, the iQoo Z9s is equipped with a massive 5,500 mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Vivo V40e Launched in India.
