Samsung Galaxy F55 5G was initially supposed to go official in India on May 17. However, that didn’t happen, and the reason remains unknown. The brand has remained coy regarding the postponement of the Galaxy F55. Nonetheless, Samsung’s next mid-range 5G smartphone has a new launch date. As per a new teaser on Flipkart.com, the Galaxy F55 5G will go official in India on May 27, 2024, at 1 PM IST. Dubbed the segment’s lightest and slimmest phone, the South Korean tech giant will offer the phone in two colour options - Apricot Crush and Raisin Black. According to the market rumours, the Samsung Galaxy F55 5G smartphone could be a rebadged version of the Galaxy C55 that went official in China last month. It could come in three variants – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB. As for pricing, the smartphone could be priced somewhere in between Rs. 26,000 and Rs. 34,000.
Coming to the specifications, the Samsung Galaxy F55 5G will sport a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1080 X 2400 pixels. It also gets a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. The screen has a punch-hole cut housing the front camera and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the Galaxy F55 5G will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset with Adreno 644 GPU paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage with a provision to expand internal storage up to 1TB via microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy F55 5G will have a triple rear camera module comprising a 50MP primary lens with f/1.8 aperture and OIS. The other two lenses are an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera is a 50MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture for video calls and selfies. The phone gets IP67 certification for water and dust resistance. The phone will be backed by a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. It will run on Android 14 OS with Samsung’s One UI 6.1 out-of-the-box.
