After announcing the next generation Jio Phone 2 at 41st AGM, the smart feature phone will be available for sale today at 12 pm. The device will go on sale exclusively via Jio.com and Jio app, hinting that the phone will be available in limited numbers only. Ahead of its first sale, the company revealed the plans for the new Jio Phone, which starts as low as Rs. 49 likewise the predecessor. Moreover, Reliance has also started rolling out popular apps like YouTube, Facebook and Google Maps to its Jio Phone on August 15. On the other hand, a popular instant messaging platform - WhatsApp will also be rolled out to Jio Phone soon. As far as the specs are concerned, the new Jio Phone 2 comes with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of inbuilt storage with an expandable memory of up to 128GB via microSD card. For connectivity, the new Jio Phone 2 smart feature phone gets 4G, VoLTE, VoWiFi, 3.5G, 2G, WiFi, LTE Cat4 DL, FM Radio, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC as connectivity options. The optics on the new Phone 2 are 2MP camera at the rear and VGA front camera.

Interested buyers can sign up on Jio.com or Jio app with either current Jio mobile number or email ID before the device goes out of stock. Moreover, the company has also started the registrations for the GigaFiber that is Reliance's first fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband service. The company plans to roll out the broadband service across the country in at least 1100 cities.
