Xiaomi India is all set to launch a new smartphone under its Redmi sub-brand today in India. To be called as Redmi Note 8 Pro, the smartphone is already on sale in the home market. The main underlines of the phone are Helio G90T SoC, quad camera module with a 64MP primary sensor, a 20MP front sensor and 4,500mAh battery. The Redmi Note 8 Pro launch event is slated to begin at 12 PM IST. Moreover, the phone has being teased on Amazon India as well as official Mi.com. As far as the prices are concerned, the new Redmi Note 8 is likely to be priced pretty close to China market prices. The base variant of Redmi Note 8 Pro with 6GB of RAM and 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1,399 (around Rs. 14,000). Moreover, the 6GB + 128GB variant and 8GB + 128GB variant are priced at CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 16,000) and CNY 1,799 (approximately Rs. 18,000) respectively. On the specification front, the new Redmi Note 8 Pro will sport a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with resolution of 1080x2340 pixels. The device will be powered by MediaTek Helio G90T chipset, which is a gaming-focused SoC from MediaTek. The chipset will be mated with up to 8GB of RAM. Moreover, the phone will also get gaming-centric features such as Game Turbo 2.0 mode.
For Photography, there will be a quad-camera setup at the back making it the first smartphone to sport a 64MP primary camera. Apart from the main sensor, the phone will also get an 8MP wide-angle shooter and two 2MP snappers. At the front, there will be a 20MP Snapper for selfies and video calling. The phone will be backed by a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The connectivity options on the phone will be taken care by NFC, USB Type-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, IR blaster.
Apart from Redmi Note 8 Pro, the company will also be launching the new MIUI 11 Globl ROM stable which was launched in China last month. It will pack features like dynamic font scaling, new reminder feature, customisable lock screen, dynamic sound effects and much more. More details will be revealed at the launch event.
