Realme 2 Pro: CEO Madhav Seth Confirms Snapdragon 660 SoC & Waterdrop Notch - Watch Video

After bagging success with Realme 1 and Realme 2 smartphones, the sub-brand of Oppo – Realme is all set to launch the new Realme 2 Pro device in India on September 27. The company has already sent out 'Block Your Dates' for its next smartphone which is touted as a more powerful and expensive iteration of the current Realme 2 handset that was launched in August. Ahead of the official launch, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has revealed the smartphone in an interview with YouTuber - Gaurav Chaudary alongside some exciting details about the Realme 2 Pro. The CEO has confirmed that the upcoming smartphone will differ from Realme 1 and Realme 2 devices. The Pro variant will feature a waterdrop notch already seen on the products like Oppo F9 Series and Vivo V11 Pro. The CEO also claimed that the smartphone also gets a taller display with screen-to-body ratio of 91 percent. It is likely to sport a 6.3-inch FHD+ display screen with 2340 x 1080px of resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC unlike the Realme 2 which comes with Snapdragon 450 SoC. As a reminder, Realme 1 was packed with a MediaTek Helio P60 chipset. The smartphone also comes with dual camera module at the back along with a fingerprint reader. The device will also sport a face unlock system seen on Realme 1 and Realme 2 devices. As the Indian market is a price driven market, Realme was quick to realize the needs and buying sentiments of the customers at this price point. Thus, the Chinese smartphone maker decided to incorporate Snapdragon SoC Chipset rather than 450 SoC. Other manufacturers are also using the same chipset - Snapdragon 660 on their respective products like Xiaomi Mi A2, Vivo V11 Pro and Nokia 7 plus.
