However, the Blue coloured variant will be available by early October. The mid-range smartphone space is quite an appealing one, not only for the buyers but also, for the smartphone makers. That said, the amount is huge that each smartphone maker intends to outperform the other with their new offerings. One such phone maker is Realme, as it gears up to launch its second smartphone in the country today - Realme 2. The smartphone will be pitted against the likes of Xiaomi Note 5 & Note 5 Pro that has been leading the mid-level smartphone space. The launch event of the new Realme 2 is scheduled to commence from 12.30 pm onwards. The new Realme 2 will be introduced as a successor to Realme 1, which was launched in the county earlier this year. The company is targeting the younger buyers that looking to purchase a mid-range smartphones at an affordable range. Moreover, the company will be live streaming the launch event, which can be watched here. The smartphone will also be broadcasting the launch event through social media accounts – YouTube and Facebook. Ahead of its launch, the company accidentally uploaded live images of the phone on the official website, which revealed a thing or two about the device.

The new Realme 2 will be considerable upgrade than the Realme 1 in terms of specifications. It is expected to feature a 6.23-inch Full HD+ notched display. The handset will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC, unlike Realme 1 that was fitted with a MediaTek processor previously. Coming to the camera department, the smartphone will feature a dual rear camera module featuring a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary sensor along with a dedicated LED flash. At the front, it is expected to sport an 8MP snapper for selfies and video calling. To be backed by a bigger 4230 mAh battery, the smartphone will be made available in three shades - Diamond Red, Black and Blue. On the pricing front, the smartphone is likely to be offered with a competitive price tag starting from less than Rs. 10,000 for the base variant. The top end variant of Realme 2 is expected to go up to Rs. 15,000.
