Bengaluru, October 23: PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Corporation and Tencent games recently held India's one of the biggest eSport tournament- ‘PUBG MOBILE Campus Championship 2018’, after a month-long event finishing with the grand finale in Bengaluru. The tournament was won by, 'The Terrifying Nightmares', a team from Mumbai. The winning team took Rs 15 lakh cash prize and Oppo F9 pro for all top 15 players. The eSport event which was sponsored by Oppo got more than 250,000 registrations, from nearly 1,000 colleges across 30 cities in India. The event went through 12 days of qualifying rounds, down to 20 squads which battled for the biggest chicken dinner in the finale. After the match, several awards were given to the players for their performance. The most valuable player of the tournament was Eleen Raj from Team NSD with the highest number of awards. Jatin Gupta of '6ix9ine' earned the tag of 'The lone ranger' with a maximum of kills in one game. PUBG MOBILE's Updates War Mode and Clan System.
After seeing such enthusiasm for the game, Oppo and Tencent- the parent company of PUBG, are partnering together for the first PUBG themed store in Bengaluru's Church Street. CEO of Pubg Corporation, Chang Han Kim, said that the response that PUBG Mobile is getting from India is colossal. "The manner that the country has taken the game is overwhelming," he said. He further added that to connect with the PUBG users they are looking forward to creating a localised experience for PUBG fans in India.
