New Delhi, January 18: Digital payments service Paytm has entered into a partnership with online food delivery aggregator Zomato to allow its users to order food through the mobile wallet application. Currently, Paytm user in Delhi and National Capital Region (NCR) will be able to use the in-app service. The service will soon be made available across India. The service is currently available on Android phones.
"We are excited to be partnering with them to integrate our online food delivery service with their mobile app. This will allow us to reach a much larger user base and add to the overall experience of ordering from Zomato," Mohit Gupta, CEO, food delivery, Zomato, said in a statement. With the partnership, Zomato is trying to expand its online food ordering business, while Paytm aims to offer food delivery service to its users. "Our association with Zomato is a valuable addition to our platform in bringing the convenience of ordering food online through our app. It is also an important step towards enhancing the overall offerings to our customers. We will continue to invest our efforts in this direction," Paytm senior vice president Renu Satti told The Economic Times. At present, Zomato has over 80,000 restaurants across 120 cities. The application delivers orders at a monthly order run rate of 28 million. Paytm has registered over 200 million users for its digital wallet.
