After taking the consumer goods industry by storm, Baba Ramdev has now decided to enter into the telecom sector as Patanjali Ayurved Limited announced the launch of new Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards. Joining hands with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Patanjali will be offering attractive offers to lure buyers wherein the new SIM cards will be made available with new Rs. 144 plan wherein the users can make unlimited calls in the country. As a part of this plan, the company will also be offering 2GB of data as well as 100 SMSes.

As per the report from Financial Express, these benefits initially will be limited to Patanjali Office bearers and employees. Once the official launch happens, the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card holders will be able to avail the benefits of the SIM cards which includes at least 10 percent discount on Patanjali products. Another highlight of this collaboration is that the company is also offering an life, accidental and health insurances along with these SIM cards. As per the market reports, the company will proffer medical insurance worth Rs 2.5 lakh and life insurance worth Rs 5 lakh will be covered along with the Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM card users.

Ramdev mentioned in a statment that both Patanjali and BSNL are working for the welfare of the country. He further stated that, “There are five lakh counters of BSNL and from there people can soon get Patanjali Swadeshi Samriddhi Card”.

Mr. Sunil Garg - Chief General Manager of BSNL stated “Patanjali’s plan is BSNL’s best plan” while giving the details of the plan. He further clarified that Patanjali members just have to show their identity card at BSNL counters to get a SIM card. The card will be activated “after some paperwork”.
