Passport Seva Mobile App: Here’s How You Can Apply & Track Passport From Anywhere in India

Under the new liberalized scheme introduced by the external affairs ministry, Indian nationals can apply for passports from anywhere in the country irrespective of where they reside. With an attempt to further simplify the passport application procedure, External Affairs Minister - Sushma Swaraj, on Tuesday, launched a Passport Seva mobile app.  Referred as 'passport revolution', the Passport Seva application is available on both Android as well as iOS platforms. With the newly launched passport service mobile app, the applicants can apply, pay and schedule appointments for passport services without accessing the regional passport office website. The applicants can also use this mobile app for tracking the status of their passport. Here are step-by-step instructions which can help you in applying for the passport from anywhere in the country.

1. In order to use this application, the users need to register with the mobile app. After which, they will be entitled to login into the application.

2. Once done with logging into the app, the users are directed to application Home with options to apply for new/reissue of passport, police clearance certificate as well as viewing submitted applications.

3. For applying new or reissue of passport, the users will need to select the state and district, further redirecting them to the application form of 9 pages which is required to be filled-in the users.
4. The applicants also locate the center across the country like Passport Seva Kendra, Passport Office, District Passport Cell and more.

5. The application also serves as a document advisor which proffers the users with the documents required for new or reissue of passport, PCC/ Misc. services, background verification for GEP.
6. Moreover, the applicants also check the appointment availability on the mobile app. When selected appointment availability on the app, the users will land on a page where they need to select the location of the nearest passport office and fill in the characters displayed on the page.

7. The newly launched passport seva app also proffers details about the fees without going on the website to check the same. In order to check the fees, the applicants will be required to fill in details such as type of service, age, required scheme.
