Mumbai, June 15: After launching the Reno 12 series in China, Oppo is ready to introduce the new Reno series globally next week in Europe. The launch date has been set for June 18 and will take place in Ibiza, Spain. The Chinese tech giant announced this development through a teaser video uploaded on its official YouTube channel and social media accounts. The new Reno 12 series will replace the on-sale Reno 11 series in the Oppo’s product line-up. The teaser suggested that the Reno 12 series will support GenAI features such as AI Portrait and AI LinkBoost. The global variants of the Oppo Reno 12 series could see slight tweaks under the hood compared to the China-spec versions. However, the brand has yet to confirm the exact specifications of the upcoming smartphones.

The Chinese tech giant has remained coy regarding the specifications. If the market reports are to be believed, the Oppo Reno 12 series could be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC, unlike the China models, which come with Dimensity 8250 (vanilla) and Dimensity 9200+ (Pro variant).

Both smartphones are tipped to boast a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection. Oppo could equip the vanilla Reno 12 with a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary sensor, an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro shooter. However, the Oppo Reno 12 Pro could get a whereas the Reno 12 Pro has a Sony IMX890 primary sensor. Both models will carry a 50MP shooter for selfies and video calls. They will also get the same 5,000mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging support.

As for pricing, Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro carry a starting price tag of CNY 2,699 (around Rs. 31,000) and CNY 3,399 (around Rs. 39,000), respectively, at the home market. However, Oppo could launch the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro globally at €457.83 (around Rs. 41,200) and €549.40 (around Rs. 49,325.77), respectively.
