Oppo R17 Pro Smartphone To Be Launched in India on December 4; To Feature Dewdrop Notch & In-display Fingerprint Sensor
Oppo India will be launching the new Oppo R17 Pro smartphone in India on December 4 which will be pitted against the likes of OnePlus 6T and Samsung Galaxy A9.
Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo is all set to expand its product portfolio for the Indian market by introducing the much awaited new Oppo R17 Pro smartphone by early next month. The company will be launching the new R Series smartphone in India on December 4 at an event in Mumbai. The company has started sending out media invites for the launch event. After launching Oppo R17 & R17 Pro smartphones in China earlier this year, the phone maker will skip the regular Oppo R17 variant and will introduce only the R17 Pro variant. Coming to the camera department, the new Oppo R17 Pro will be equipped with a triple rear camera setup. The company has incorporated a similar system as that of Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9's variable aperture mechanism. The module comprises of a 12MP sensor with an f/1.5-2.4 variable aperture, a 20MP sensor with an f/2.6 aperture, and a TOF 3D stereo camera. The phone runs Oppo's own ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone also comes with a 3,700 mAh battery with supports SuperVOOC charging technology. The company claims that the technology is capable of charging the device to 40 percent in just 10 minutes.
As far as the pricing is concerned, the smartphone is priced at CNY 4,299 in China, which is approximately Rs 42,000. However, the company will be looking to keep the prices competitive as it will be pitted against OnePlus 6T and Samsung Galaxy A9. We speculate that the smartphone could be priced around Rs 40,000.
