OnePlus recently launched its most anticipated smartphone the flagship OnePlus 6 with its sale hitting the market last week. The Chinese smartphone company is offering the handset to the interested buyer with 3 variants - 6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB & 8GB/256GB, however, OnePlus 6 Marvel Avengers Edition is offered in India on the top-end variant. Launched with a starting price of Rs. 34,999, the Shenzhen-based smartphone company rolled out a new update introducing new features that will allow OnePlus 6 users the ability to capture slow-motion videos at a resolution of 720p at 480fps and 1080p at 249fps. The update also induced notch hiding feature along with May security patch and updating the camera for quickly capturing the images in portrait mode.

Alongside the updated rolled out for the newly launched OnePlus 6, the company secretly disabled the Always On Display feature which was spotted by a Reddit user. However, the user noticed that the feature was available to them before updating the smartphone, but it was disabled post new updates.

The company later gave a statement to PunikaWeb, “We have an official update from our Technical Team confirming that always on display on OnePlus 6 was removed due to battery saving concern.” Mostly it seems that enabling the ‘Always On Display’ may have a high amount of battery drainage on OnePlus 6 devices and the Company without a fix will not anytime soon enable this feature.

The smartphone maker has commenced the online sale for the Avengers Edition in India today. The special edition is made available for purchase exclusively via Amazon India from today which is priced at Rs. 44,999. The special variant of the flagship device comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
