OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 5G? Chinese Smartphone Maker Announces Closed-door Event at MWC 2019; Sends Invite

OnePlus is reportedly believed to be revealing the new OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 5G smartphone at the forthcoming MWC 2019 event.

OnePlus, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer is expected to launch its next flagship model - OnePlus 7 later this year. Though, the official launch date of OnePlus 6T successor is not known yet, a new report claims that the Chinese phone maker will be revealing the device during the Mobile World Congress 2019. However, the event is expected to be a closed-door event with limited attendees allowed to witness the event. As per a report from AllAboutOnePlus, the company has already sent out invitations for a closed-door event which is slated to happen at MWC 2019. The event invite comes with a tagline - Reimagine the future with OnePlus'. It also adds - 'Join OnePlus at Ultramarinos where drinks and a taste of the future will be on us'. We'll be celebrating MWC 2019 at this exclusive, invite-only event.'

Going by the invitation for the closed-door event, it is not yet confirmed that the Chinese handset maker will be launching OnePlus 7 during MWC 2019, however, it is likely to be revealed. OnePlus could be launching the new OnePlus 7 flagship smartphone by May or June this year, which is expected to be in-line with the timeline of last year's OnePlus 6. The forthcoming OnePlus 7 is rumoured to get Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC with 8GB of RAM for the base variant. It is also believed that we could see a triple rear camera module on the device. Other features that are likely to be seen on the flagship model are an ultrasonic or in-display fingerprint scanner and water-cooling system similar to the one we have seen on Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Xiaomi Poco F1.
