HTC, a Taiwanese consumer tech company has officially launched the new U12+ flagship smartphone in the global market today. The new HTC U12+ smartphone is introduced as a successor to the HTC U11+ device which bags major improvements in camera specifications as it sits second under the DxoMark rating list. Moreover, the specifications and features of the smartphone were leaked ahead of its official launch. The smartphone is offered in 2 variants - 64GB & 128GB wherein the former is priced at $799 (around Rs. 54,600) while the former is available at $849 (around Rs 58,000) under pre-orders. As far as the specifications are concerned, the flagship device gets a 6-inch Quad HD+ super LCD 6 display with 2880×1440 pixels of resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset clocked at 2.8GHz coupled to a 6GB RAM and up to 128GB internal memory. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and comes in 3 colors - Translucent Blue, Ceramic Black, and Flame Red.
On the camera front, the new HTC U12+ sports two cameras at the front and two shooters at the rear. The rear camera module features a 12MP wide-angle primary camera and 16MP telephoto lens with optical image stabilization, dedicated dual-LED flash and much more. Upfront, the smartphone features a dual 8MP shooter that supports bokeh mode for portrait. The flagship handset features IP68 water and dust resistance along with connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and 4G LTE with dual LTE support. The device is packed with a 3,500mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0. The smartphone competes against the likes of OnePlus 6, Samsung Galaxy S9+, LG G7 ThinQ and Huawei P20 Pro.
