The most popular application and social media platform, Instagram is making life simpler for its users and business holders. On May 8, the app introduced a “Instagram Direct” for businesses. This new tool means users can begin reserving tickets, booking a table or placing an order without leaving the social network. Yes, to all Instagrammers, the recent update is a one-click away to get your orders. With this new feature and by adding a “call-to-action buttons” to their profile, businesses would help customers connect with the third-party partners from the platform.
Explaining about the same, the company informed through a blogpost, “Starting today, businesses will have a better way to manage their messages. Users will be able to see important new customer messages in the main 'Direct' inbox, instead of in the pending folder.” They further added, “Users will also be able to star and filter conversations to come back to messages they would want to follow up on. Additionally, in the coming weeks we'll begin testing quick replies so that you can easily respond to common questions.” As you click the button, it will open a browser page inside the Instagram app to complete the process.
The Instagram director of product, Vishal Shah reported CNBC that the ultimate motive behind the new update is to make it a place where businesses can get done. From scheduling a salon appointment to making brunch reservations, Instagram is totally a one-stop shop for its users. The new action buttons that your will see in the business profiles are ‘book’, ‘get tickets’, ‘reserve’ or ‘start order’ which will let you perform one of those actions without leaving the app! According to Facebook-owned application, over 200 million users visit a business profile every day. Well, looking at the number, the business holders and the users would have their fair share of benefits.
