After launching new range of Nokia smartphones in the Indian market, HMD Global is now gearing up to launch the Nokia X or X6 smartphone globally. The company is expected to reveal the upcoming Nokia X device at an event in Beijing on May 16. Likely to be introduced only in a Black variant, the new Nokia X is expected to sport iPhone X like notch on the display. Going by this brief 12 second video, it is quite evident that the smartphone gets Nokia branding at the rear just below the vertically aligned dual camera module and fingerprint sensor. However, the presence of the notch on the display upfront cannot be confirmed in the video.
Talking about the specs, the new Nokia X smartphone is expected to sport a 5.8-inch Full HD+ display with aspect ratio of 19:9. For optics, the device is likely to sport Carl ZEISS branded for low light photography featuring 12MP dual cameras at the rear. However, the details about the front camera sensor are currently unknown but it will sport a dedicated flash.
The device is speculated to sport Qualcomm's Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC, coupled with either 4GB or 6GB RAM. The new Nokia X could be offered with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage depending on the model. The device will run on pure Android 8.1 Oreo OS. The new Nokia X is expected to be loaded with features which could be priced at $253 which is approximately Rs. 16,882. It is also rumored that HMD Global could also introduce another variant with MediaTek P60 chipset that would be priced around $284 (approximately Rs. 19,000). Moreover, exact details and specifications about the new Nokia X or X6 will be revealed at the event on May 16.
