HMD Global, a Nokia Brand licensee added a new smartphone to its line-up by launching the new Nokia 7.1 at an event in London on Thursday. Launched as a successor to Nokia 7, the newly launched Nokia 7.1 handset comes with 19:9 PureDisplay screen with a notch on the top. Priced at EUR 319 (around Rs. 27,000), the new Nokia 7.1 smartphone will be retailed in 2 exciting shades - Gloss Midnight Blue and Gloss Steel. The handset will be made available globally from October onwards. However, there is no official word from the company regarding Nokia 7.1 India availability. The company has also launched two new audio accessories at the event alongside Nokia 7.1 smartphone - Nokia True Wireless Earbuds and Nokia Pro Wireless Earphones. The former earbuds comes with up to 3.5 hours of play time whereas the latter is claimed to give playback time of up to 10 hours. On the specification front, the new Nokia 7.1 sports a 5.84-inch FHD+ PureDisplay screen with aspect ratio of 19:9 and resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. Featuring HDR10 support, the display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, the smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC which is mated with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of internal storage.
In the camera department, the new Nokia 7.1 smartphone packs a vertically aligned dual camera module featuring a 12MP primary sensor with autofocus & f/1.8 aperture along with a 5MP secondary shooter with f/2.4 aperture. Apart from EIS, the device also features two-phase detection and Zeiss optics for the rear camera module. Upfront, the smartphone also comes with an 8MP fixed focus snapper for selfies and video chat. Moreover, the company also claims that 3060 mAh battery on the smartphone is capable of delivering 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes of charge. As far as the connectivity options are concerned, the new Nokia 7.1 device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C. The smartphone also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
