HMD Global will be launching its new smartphone in the domestic market by next week. The company had previously teased the product on the social media that gave rise to several reports hinting that the new smartphone will be a gaming phone. However, the tweet has been taken down though. Moreover, a teaser page of new smartphone listed on Flipkart which has revealed some details about the new offering from Nokia. The new Nokia 5.1 Plus was announced last month in India, however, the company didn't reveal the price tag. The smartphone will be retailed online exclusively via Flipkart and the price will be revealed on September 24 on e-retailer website itself at 2PM IST. The device is expected to be priced under Rs 15,000 bracket. The new Nokia 5.1 Plus was unveiled alongside Nokia 6.1 Plus last month itself. It comes with a full-screen notched display, and a glass covered body. The Nokia 5.1 Plus features a plastic frame enforced with metal sandwiched between the glass panels, and a nano-coating. On the specification front, the new Nokia 5.1 Plus smartphone packs a 5.8-inch HD+ display with 1520 x 720px of resolution and aspect ratio of 19:9. Powering the smartphone is a MediaTek Helio P60 processor clubbed with Mali-G72 GPU. The device will be offered in 2 variants - 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM. In the photography department, the handset also comes with a dual-camera module which comprises of a 13MP primary camera along with a 5MP secondary camera. The smartphone also carries an 8MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture for video calling and selfies. The device also packs a fingerprint sensor at the rear just below the rear camera setup. Backed by 3060 mAh of battery life, the Nokia 5.1 Plus runs stock Android Oreo as it is a part of Google' Android One initiative. The device is also expected to receive Android Pie update later this year.
