WhatsApp has been one of the most used instant messaging application across the globe which has been receiving quite a few updates now. The company is constantly making efforts to make the messaging app more feature loaded and safer for its users. Going by the same, the company rolled out a new update to the application which seems to have got bugged. The new update allows the blocked users to be able to send messages to the contacts who have blocked them. With the release of the new update in compliance of the European GDPR, WhatsApp instant messenger application owned by Facebook reportedly has been bugged which allows the blocked contacts to send messages to the users who have blocked them.

Moreover, the bugged update on WhatsApp fails to restrict the blocked user from sending messages and further enabling them to read the user status without any restrictions. The new update was recently rolled out to the certain selective number of users while the remaining audience is expected to receive the same in the coming days, probably by the end of this month.

WhatsApp has a feature which allows its users to block any particular contact, banning them from sending messages. Such a feature are of particular use to people who may not want to hear from a random stranger who they don’t know or don’t like. But with this bug things have gone for a toss. Reports of this problem have already flooded across Twitter and other social networks. It appears to be affecting both iOS and Android users, suggesting that the problem is on WhatsApp's servers.

But there is a quick fix to this problem, here’s a step by step method to block that person again.

Step 1: All you need to do is to unblock the user you want to block.

Step 2: Tap on his/her name to access the “Contact Info” for that user.

Step 3: Tap on ‘Contact Info’ again.

Step 4: Now, you will need to block the user again.

These are the steps that you can follow to block the user from messaging you on WhatsApp again.
