Mumbai, July 25: Motorola confirmed that it will launch its new military-grade Edge series smartphone with MIL-810H certification on August 1, 2024. The smartphone company first confirmed that the new Motorola Edge 50 will offer Gorilla Glass 5 protection and sport the Sony LYTIA sensor. Earlier, it was anticipated that the upcoming smartphone would be Motorola Edge 50 Neo, which the company debunked. Ahead of the launch, Motorola has confirmed almost all the specifications and features of the upcoming Edge 50 smartphone.

Motorola claimed that its new Edge 50 will be the "world's slimmest MIL-810H-certified military-grade phone" with solid protection against factors like accidental drops, extreme heat, shock and vibrations, low temperature, pressure, humidity, high temperature, dust and salt fog. The Motorola Edge 50 will have a 6.67-inch Super pOLED display with 1.5K resolution, 1,900 peak brightness and 10-bit billion colour support. It will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Moto AI will be a great part of the new Motorola Edge 50 smartphone, which will offer powerful camera-related features features. Besides, the  Google Photos in the device will also offer Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, Magic Editor, Sky effects, Cinematic photos, Color Pop, and more.

Motorola confirmed that its new smartphone will feature a 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor and up to 256GB internal storage. The official Flipkart microsite revealed that the 256GB variant will have RAM Boost 3.0 support for adding virtual RAM for better multi-tasking experience. It also confirmed that the smartphone will offer a vapour chamber cooling system for managing heat while gaming. Motorola Edge 50 will boast a 5,000mAh battery supporting 68W TurboPower fast-charging and 15W wireless charging. The smartphone will offer three years of OS upgrades and four years of SMR Updates. With its IP68 rating, the device will provide water and dust resistance.

Motorola has added a 50MP Sony LYTIA-700C sensor as a primary camera for high-quality daytime and night photography in the smartphone. The Edge 50 will also have a 10MP Telephoto camera with up to 30X zoom capability and a 13MP secondary ultrawide camera with 120-degree FOV. The camera setup will offer up to 4X closer macro details with a built-in 13MP camera.
