Motorola, the Lenovo-owned smartphone manufacturer, is all set to launch the new Moto G8 Plus smartphone. The Moto G7 Plus successor will be unveiled today in Brazil. The Moto G8 Plus launch will be a soft launch that is scheduled to commence from 9:30 AM CT around 8 PM IST wherein the company will be revealing all the details of the smartphone. If the market reports are to be believed, the new Moto G8 Plus is expected to sport a waterdrop-style notch, a triple rear camera module with 48MP primary lens, laser autofocus system, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, 4,000mAh battery and more. It is expected that Motorola could launch three models under the Moto G8 Series. Going by the market rumours, we might see Moto G8 Play, Vanilla Moto G8 and Moto E6 Play phones alongside Moto G8 Plus.
Considering leaked renders of the phone, the new Moto G8 Plus will feature a gradient back body panel, triple camera and fingerprint scanner at the back. Upfront, the phone will get a waterdrop-style notch housing a front selfie camera and a chin at the bottom. The volume rockers and power button will be seen on the right side. The phone is expected to come in two glossy shades - Blue and Red. However, we can expect more colour options at the launch.
On the specification front, the new Moto G8 Plus is expected to come with a 6.3-inch FHD IPS display with a resolution of 1080x2280 pixels. The phone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 665 SoC, which could be mated with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal space. The onboard storage of the phone will come with expansion provision via microSD card.
For photography, there will be a triple rear camera module comprising of a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP wide-angle with 117-degree field of view and a 5MP depth sensor. The fourth cut-out will be occupied by the laser autofocus system for precise and quick focusing. At the front, the phone is expected to equip a 25MP selfie shooter.
The phone will pack a 4000 mAh battery; however, there is no official word about fast charging. However, the phone is rumoured to get a 3.5mm headphone jack and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The connectivity options on the phone will be carried out by Bluetooth v5, LTE, dual-SIM support, wireless LAN, LTE Cat 13, dual-band Wi-FI, NFC and more.
As far as the Moto G8 Plus prices are concerned, the company will be revealing it at the launch. However, we speculate that the phone will be priced at around EUR 299.99, which is around Rs 23,600. There are high chances that the company might tag the handset with this price point or maybe slightly higher.
