San Francisco, August 26: Last month's Microsoft IT outage hit the whole world, affecting various systems, businesses, airlines, government offices and individuals. The CrowdStrike-caused global outage caused Windows to crash and users to see BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) on their screens. Addressing this issue, Microsoft said it was working on something to prevent this from happening and US cybersecurity CrowdStrike also said it would see it never happen again. The company also accepted the "Most Epic Fail" award at the Pwnie Award show as a reminder not to let such an outage happen.

Microsoft announced that it would hold a summit on September 10 and address the key steps to improve the cybersecurity systems. This step considered a big step by the tech giant, would highlight the CrowdStrike-led issue that caused the systemwide failure and global IT outage that affected nearly 8.5 million Windows devices. Microsoft would hold this conference at its headquarters in Redmond, Washington and invite the government representatives. The worldwide outage showed that the systems were not prepared for such issues and alerted the affected as they did not have any contingency plan. The companies, sectors and people did not know what to do when IT systems or software were affected. 

CrowdStrike said it would bring its perspective to the discussion with Microsoft and all the people from the government and industry. The cybersecurity firm said it would highlight the need for having more resilient ecosystem. The shareholders sued CrowdStrike saying that the company defrauded them and concealed that improper software testing could cause such a massive IT outage across the globe. Delta Airlines pursued legal claims on against Microsoft and CrowdStrike over issues like light cancellations costing its carrier around USD 500 million.
