New Delhi, June 23: Microsoft has introduced a new feature that allows some Windows users to access their Android smartphones directly from the Start menu. The new feature is being gradually rolled out to Windows 11 users in the beta channel as part of the latest Windows update and it is also is anticipated that support for iOS devices might be available in the future.
According to a report of English Jagran, Microsoft has introduced a new feature that enables users to connect and access their Android smartphone's from the start menu on their Windows computer. The feature is expected to enhance the user experience by integrating the Android smartphone with the Windows operating system. Microsoft said, "Pick up where you left off with the latest activities from your phone, all seamlessly integrated into your Start menu experience." Android Smartphone Features Access from Windows Start Menu
The feature is being released to Windows Insider users who have an Android device connected through the Phone Link app. Users who qualify can control the "Start" feature in the "Personalisation" section of Settings. This new feature lets Windows 11 users in the beta channel see their Android phone's battery level and connection status from the start menu. The feature is not yet available for regular Windows users, it is only available for the Windows Insider group. Beta users can use it with "Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22635.3790" and later versions. Other Insider channels might also get the feature later. To use it, beta users also need Phone Link version 1.24052.124.0 or higher. Microsoft is expected to gradually roll out the feature to ensure a seamless user experience before making it widely available.
