New Delhi, June 24: Meta, the parent company of social media platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram is rolling out its AI chatbot, Meta AI, to all users in India. The announcement comes after a period of testing the AI chatbot during the recent general elections in India.

As per a report of TechCrunch, Meta is rolling out its AI chatbot, which uses Llama-3, for all users in India. The Meta AI is currently only available in English and does not support any other local languages. Users will be able to access Meta AI in English on various Meta apps, including WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger. Meta AI Capabilities

Meta is making its AI chatbot available to all users in India, tapping into the massive user base of over 500 million WhatsApp users as well as hundreds of millions of users on its other platforms like Instagram and Facebook. Meta is expected to engage the user base in India and have the chatbot learn and improve based on these interactions. Meta AI can do many helpful things. On Instagram, it can suggest Reels based on what you search for. On Facebook, you can ask it for advice and Meta AI can create images based on prompts on what you describe or ask for. On WhatsApp, users can interact with the Meta AI chatbot individually to get help with various tasks. Additionally, users can bring the Meta AI chatbot into group chats on WhatsApp to get assistance with things like trip planning or movie recommendations. The chatbot can provide information and suggestions to the whole group. Meta stated that users cannot disable or hide the Meta AI features in its app. However, they can perform searches without using the chatbot.
