New Delhi, August 21: McAfee introduces the world’s 1st automatic and AI-powered deepfake detector, now available on Lenovo AI PCs. The innovation shows a significant step in cybersecurity to target the rising threat of deepfake technology. By using advanced AI technology, McAfee's new tool is said to automatically identify deepfake content, which offers a new layer of protection for Lenovo users now.

As per the information available on the official website, McAfee introduces the world’s 1st automatic and AI-powered deepfake detector to combat the rising issue of fake content. The tool is expected to analyse videos and images to detect any signs of manipulation. The McAfee Deepfake Detector is now available on Lenovo AI PCs. If users choose to use it, they will be quickly notified if videos have AI-altered audio, without needing to manually upload the videos. Starting from August 21, 2024, the McAfee Deepfake Detector is available on new Lenovo AI PCs purchased from Lenovo.com and select local retailers. Initially, it will be available in the English language in the US and later it will be introduced in the UK and Australia.

The deepfake detector uses advanced artificial intelligence to scan and evaluate media files. It identifies patterns and inconsistencies that may indicate tampering. The detection process happens directly on the PC using the Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which keeps user data private and off the cloud. McAfee reportedly does not collect or save user audio.
