New Delhi, October 10: Kaspersky, the Russian cybersecurity company, is making big changes in its operations. The company has reportedly decided to shut down its office in the UK and plans to lay off employees based in London. According to reports, the job cuts could affect dozens of employees.

The situation comes three months after the company began shutting down its operations in the US. After closing its office in the United Kingdom and layoffs, Kaspersky is expected to change its approach. Instead of having a direct presence in the UK, the company will likely work with local partners to provide its services. BeepKart Layoffs: Bengaluru-Based Used Two-Wheeler Marketplace Reduces 40% of Its Workforce, Shuts Down 11 Stores To Cut Rising Costs.

As per a report of TechCrunch, Kaspersky is shutting down its office in the United Kingdom, with plans to lay off numerous employees. The closure of the UK office will impact employees based in London. The London office of Kaspersky has around 50 employees. UK customers will still be able to reach its European team and services by using partner channels. Kaspersky spokesperson Francesco Tius reportedly said that the company “will commence a wind-down of the UK office operations, reorienting its business in the country toward the partner channel.”

In June, the US government stopped Kaspersky from selling its products in the US. It caused the company to let go of its employees and close its offices in the country. The sales ban made Kaspersky exit the US market entirely. As a result, the company reportedly teamed up with a new antivirus firm. They transferred their US customers to this new company, which is called UltraAV. PubMatic Layoffs: US-Based Adtech Company Lays Off Employees To Focus on Growth Areas, Plans To Increase Workforce by 15% This Year.

According to multiple reports, the decision to close its operations in the UK is said to be influenced by alleged accusations that the company has strong ties to the Russian government. However, Kaspersky has consistently denied these claims for many years. According to multiple reports, the company is looking to simplify its operations due to increasing geopolitical tensions and difficulties in different markets. This change shows that Kaspersky wants to adjust to a fast-changing business landscape, especially as it faces ongoing concerns about its Russian background.
