New Delhi, May 6: The Apple iPhone 17 launch is nearly a year away, and there is an excitement among fans of the brand. They eagerly await the tech giant to break new ground and introduce a brand new iPhone with unique features and specifications. Apple has yet to announce the official iPhone 16 launch date, which is rumoured to arrive in September 2024. According to a report, the next iPhone 17 series details have been leaked and it will have a revamped design, improved materials and different display sizes, promising a truly innovative experience.
We already had reports about the iPhone 16 having a bigger display, batteries and performance improvement with its A17 and A17 Pro chips. iPhone 17 will take almost a year to be announced globally. However, according to a report by 9to5Mac, Apple iPhone 17 is rumoured to launch with a slim design and smaller Dynamic Island. The report said a reliable analyst, Jeff Pu from Haitong International Securities, revealed Appel's "big" changes to its upcoming iPhone 17 series. iPhone 17 Pro Max Rumours About Display, Design and Other Features
The report highlighted that according to Jeff Pu, the new iPhone 17 slim model would replace the iPhone Plus model in the series, and the new lineup would be - iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhones in the 17 series will reportedly feature a "more complex" aluminium design. However, it said that the Pro Max variant would still retain its design made out of titanium. The iPhone 17 Pro Max is said to offer customers a new "narrowed Dynamic Island" through "metalens" tech that allegedly would reduce the Face ID sensor size. The other models in the 17 series are said to continue their current design.
iPhone 17 Slim Rumours About Display, Design and Other Features
Jeff Pu reportedly confirmed that the iPhone 17 slim model is said to replace the "Plus" and come with a "slim design". As per the report, the analyst revealed no additional details about the slim model. However, the analyst Jeff Pu mentioned the screen sizes, RAM and chipset details of the upcoming iPhone 17 series and here it is,
- iPhone 17 to feature a 6.1-inch display with A18/A19 chip and offer 8GB RAM
- iPhone 17 to feature a 6.6-inch display with A18/A19 chip and offer 8GB RAM
- iPhone 17 Pro to feature a 6.3-inch display with A19 Pro chip and 12GB RAM
- iPhone 17 Pro Max to feature a 6.9-inch display with A19 Pro chip and 12GB RAM
Despite many premium mobile phones offering up to 12 or 16GB RAM, Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus currently offer 6GB RAM. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max offer 8GB RAM. The report said that it would change in 2025 as Apple revamps the design and features of its new iPhone 17 series.
iPhone 17 Series Front Camera Specifications
Jeff Pu also reportedly mentioned that the iPhone 17 models will significantly improve their camera resolution by offering 24MP front camera, discontinuing the 12MP it offers in the current models. Regarding the rear camera setup, the report did not mention any detail. Although the iPhone 17 is a long shot, it would offer better specifications, design improvements, and AI features than the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
