Cupertino, November 12: Apple 17 Slim is the highly anticipated smartphone to launch next year that may offer a slimmer design and enhanced performance. The early reports suggested that the device would be introduced by replacing the existing "Plus" model and offering improved performance. Rumours say the upcoming slim iPhone will be called "iPhone 17 Air", just like the iPad Air.

Apple recently launched the iPhone 16 series, offering increased performance over the iPhone 15 series and the promise of the new Apple Intelligence features. The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be slim while offering similar specifications and features as other devices in the series. However, according to a new report by Android Headlines, Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 Air will not be as thin as rumoured. iPhone SE 4 May Launch in March 2025; Check Expected Price, Specifications and Features.

The report said that the "Air" edition of the iPhone 17 would be introduced alongside the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max and vanilla variant. The tech giant is expected to shake up the long-running iPhone models by introducing this new variant. The report highlighted that Apple's slim smartphone would likely replace the "Mini" series.

It has been rumoured that the iPhone 17 Air or Slim would not be "that slimmer" because Apple had been struggling to reduce the thickness compared to the other models. However, the device will be noticeably thinner than the others in the upcoming series. On the other hand, the seventh generation iPod nano and 13-inch iPad Pro would continue to be the thinnest Apple devices to date. Realme GT 6T Green Line Issue: Customer Ravi Claims Realme Denied Replacing His Damaged Phone After Making Promise Earlier, Says ‘It’s Awful’.

Why Will the Apple iPhone 17 Air or Slim Not Be Thinner?

Apple reportedly struggles with the battery substances, which might be the primary cause of the thick design. The reports said Apple had been trying to include a thinner battery in the iPhone 17 Air, thinking it would reduce the thickness. On the contrary, the tech giant faced technical problems in shrinking the battery.
