Mumbai, June 8: The iPhone 16 series is expected to make its global debut in September 2024, three months from now. The series is expected to include the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max variants. Rumours about the iPhone 15 series successor started after September 2023 launch. The upcoming Apple smartphones are expected to bring the highly anticipated AI-powered features to be processed on-device and the others on the cloud.

With a promise of significant upgrades, Apple's flagship smartphones are just few months away from their grand launch event. iPhone 16 Series Specifications, Features, Display and Design (Rumours So Far)

According to many reports, the iPhone 16 is expected to launch with a 6.1-inch and the iPhone 16 Plus with a 6.7-inch display. These variants are expected to sport A17 Pro or A18 Pro chipsets. These variants are rumoured to offer Spatial video support, a new ultrawide camera, a minimum of 8GB RAM, and a minimum of 256GB storage. Additionally, specs like iOS 18, Generative AI features for photo, video and routine tasks and Wi-Fi 6E support are expected. The iPhone 16 will likely start at $799 (about Rs 66.700).

On the other hand, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are rumoured to feature bigger - 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays, respectively. The other rumoured features would remain the same in all of the variants, except the Pro ones that would likely sport the A18 Pro chipset. Further, they are expected to see significant changes in the design, especially regarding the physical buttons. This time, Apple might discontinue the physical buttons on the entire iPhone 16 series and bring the capacitive buttons. The smartphones are expected to offer Action Button, Capture Button and other changes. 

Despite many rumours about major design changes, a trusted analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, reportedly said that the iPhone 16 series would not have significant exterior changes, just minor tweaks. Many new renders and designs have been leaked on X and other platforms, showing the upcoming series of borrowing designs from iPhone X. However, these cannot be confirmed. In terms of colours, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus variants could be launched in white, black, yellow, purple and in green options. What is Apple Intelligence?

Apple WWDC 2024 event will be held on June 10, during which the tech giant will showcase its AI features through its software development. Bloomberg reportedly said Apple would introduce its new intelligence system called - ' Apple Intelligence', a new name instead of adopting 'Artificial Intelligence'. The reports mentioned that it would be user-friendly and power up Apple's latest operating system. Apple Intelligence is expected to be rolled out for OS versions for iPhones, Macs and iPads during the Apple Worldwide Developer Conference on June 10. The same technology will be featured in the upcoming iPhone 16 devices.
