Cupertino, September 23: Several iPhone 16 Pro users have reported facing touchscreen problems. The iPhone 16 Pro touchscreen responsiveness issue stopped the users from scrolling, pressing virtual buttons, and missing smartphone presses. Apple launched its iPhone 16 series on September 9, 2024, with a new A18 series chipset, a few notable design changes, and iOS changes with a promise of a future Apple Intelligence rollout plan. The sale of the device began on September 20, 2024.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, an increased number of Apple users who bought the iPhone 16 Pro had been reporting about the touchscreen responsiveness issue. It said that the users experienced taps and swipes were being ignored by the device. Due to this, the users could not use the display and press the keys on the virtual keyboard. The report mentioned that after research, it was found that the users faced problems due to a bug in the software. iPhone 16 Series Receives Overwhelming Response in India, iPhone Pro Models Lead the Pack.

The iPhone 16 Pro variant had been ignoring the touchscreen commands due to an iOS touch screen algorithm that seemed "overly sensitive." The users triggered the system to reject the touches by unintentionally touching parts of the screen. Besides this, other users of the same device reported facing an issue while putting their fingers around the Camera Control.

Due to unintentional touches, the iPhone 16 Pro's operating system temporarily ignored new touches on the display and let the users experience missed taps and swipes. The report mentioned that the issue of touchscreen responsiveness may have also been enhanced by the thinner bezels on the device, which caused the users to unintentionally contact the edges of the screen, triggering the rejection of touches. iOS 18 Update: Apple Releases iOS 18.1 Public Beta for iPhone With Apple Intelligence; Know What’s New.

The report said that the iPhone 16 Pro users had their fingers wrapped around the sides of the smartphone while naturally gripping it. The issue could occur more often if the users do not use their device with a case, making them occasionally rest their fingers on the slim borders of the screen.
