Cupertino, September 16: Apple launched its next-gen iPhone 16 series on September 9 and started accepting pre-orders on September 13. Despite integrating Apple Intelligence and offering new designs, the series has met some criticism from brand enthusiasts. Netizens were not happy with the slight changes in the design and were concerned about the timeline of the Apple Intelligence's release.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reportedly said that Apple witnessed lower demand than expected for its new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max compared to their predecessors. iPhone 15 series pre-orders were up 12.7% compared to the iPhone 16 lineup, which makes quite a difference in customer interest in the series. Motorola Edge 50 Neo Launched in India With MIL-810H Certification, 50MP Camera; Check Price, Specifications and Features.

Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo on Apple's iPhone 16 Series Demand in First Week's Pre-Order

Ming-Chi Kuo analyzed the iPhone 16 first weekend pre-order for each model and said it was lower than the iPhone 15 series. Apple's iPhone 16 Pro Max received 17.1 million pre-orders for the first week, 16% lower than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The iPhone 16 Pro dropped 27%, with a record of 9.8 million pre-orders.

When comparing the iPhone 16 Plus with the iPhone 15 Plus, Ming-Chi Kuo said it secured 2.6 million pre-orders in the first week, 48% higher than the predecessor. The entry-level iPhone 16 witnessed a 10% rise, with 7.3 million pre-orders. Seemingly, the Pro models failed to grab the customers' attention, while the Plus and Standard models rose higher than the previous generation series.

Although these models suggest higher customer interest, the overall picture for iPhone 16 series pre-orders showed a slowdown in demand. Apple reportedly witnessed lower-than-expected performance of its top-of-the-line iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, which are introduced with a better A18 Pro chipset and tetraprism telephoto camera along with several other high-end integrations. Samsung Galaxy M05 vs Realme Narzo N61: Price, Features & Specification Comparison.

In China, Apple faced stiff competition due to the Huawei Mate XT smartphone, which was launched on September 10 with the world's first tri-fold foldable design. Chinese customers also showed a lack of interest as Apple Intelligence was delayed, along with the promise of other AI features in the future.
