Mumbai, June 4: Meta-owned Instagram is developing a significant ad-related feature to its platform. As per reports, Instagram has been developing a new feature 'ad breaks'. This feature will stop the user from scrolling and force them to watch the unskippable ad. The Instagram users will have to watch these ads until they see option to continue scrolling.

As reported by The Verge, a Reddit user recently shared their experience with the new 'Instagram unskippable ads' feature. This feature, encountered while scrolling through stories, prevented the user from skipping the ad to continue watch other video content. Another report by TechCrunch highlighted that the Instagram unskippable ads feature with a countdown timer would stop users from browsing through more content on the platform. Users would need to complete the ads until the countdown is over and then scroll. The report emphasised that the new change to the Instagram app would be similar to the YouTube's free version. On YouTube, users must watch the ad while consuming video content as it also took some steps against ad-blockers.

The reports said that Meta-owned Instagram would also go that route, bringing unskippable ads. Instagram became a more frequently used video-sharing platform over the years due to features like Reels and Stories. Recently, it has become more than a platform where users can upload still photos. Microsoft Aurora AI Foundational Model Launched for Accurate Weather Predictions, Mitigation of Extreme Weather Events; Know More Details.
