New Delhi, June 3: Infosys, one of India's leading IT services companies, has found itself in the middle of a difficult situation. The National Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) has filed a complaint against the company for allegedly delaying the onboarding of over 2,000 campus recruits.
As per a report of Times of India, The Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES), a union representing IT workers, has formally requested that the Ministry of Labour and Employment to investigate against Infosys. The request is in response to allegations that Infosys has postponed the onboarding process for more than 2,000 campus recruits for a period of two years. The complaint has been filed that indicated Infosys has delayed onboarding these campus recruits thereby subjecting the freshers to uncertain and financial hardships. Infosys is yet to issue an official statement addressing the complaint on the delayed onboarding process. It remains to be seen how the company responds to the allegations and what steps it takes to resolve the issue and ensure a smooth onboarding process for its campus recruits.
Harpreet Saluja, the President of Nites, has taken action to address employee concerns caused by their recent problems. A complaint has been filed with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, formally laying down the steps that are required to mitigate the situation. Notably, Harpreet Saluja is advocating for alternative job opportunities within the company, full salary payments and employee assistance programs in order to ensure that those affected remain well and stable. TCS also had changed the onboarding dates for some lateral hires from June to October last year which made Nites raise a complaint with the Ministry of Labour. The complaint centered around the three month delay in onboarding over 200 lateral hires.
