Huawei, a leading Chinese smartphone maker has officially launched the new variant of its flagship product - Huawei P20 Pro at the ongoing IFA 2018. The new variant of P20 Pro from the house of the Chinese smartphone maker gets 8GB of RAM and 256GB ROM. Previously, the smartphone was offered with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. The new variant carries the same 6.1-inch AMOLED FHD+ display with resolution of 2240 x 1080 pixels and 18.7:9 of aspect ratio. Powering the device is the same Kirin 970 octa-core SoC seen on the previous variant. The company has not made any changes on the camera hardware and it continues to come with a Leica-branded triple camera setup at the rear. The camera module comprises of 40MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture along with an 8MP shooter with f/2.4 aperture functioning as a telephoto lens. For selfies and video calling, Huawei P20 Pro comes with a 24MP sensor upfront with a f/2.0 aperture. Backed with a 4,000mAh battery, the flagship smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based EMUI 8.1 out of the box. The connectivity options include USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and VoLTE. The company also introduced the new generation chipset that is based on the 7nm manufacturing process, which is named as HiSilicon Kirin 980. The smartphone maker has officially confirmed that the new Kirin 980 SoC will power the upcoming flagship device - Huawei Mate 20. The new Kirin980 SoC from Huawei is designed to proffer higher performance with 20 per cent speed improvement and 40 percent power efficiency.
