Huawei's sub-brand, Honor, will be launching two new high-end phones in the Indian market today. The Chinese smartphone maker is hosting an event in Delhi today that will foresee the roll out of Nova 3 and Nova 3i smartphones with GPU turbo boost. The launch event will kickstart at 11.30 am onwards; however, the company is not streaming the event live. The company has already confirmed the launch of Nova 3 smartphone will be retailed online via Amazon India, which has been teased for quite some time with hashtag #Coming4You. It is the first time the company will be introducing Nova series in India. Moreover, the Nova 3 and Nova 3i were launched in the China market previously.
The current lineup of Huawei in India includes Huawei P20 Pro and P20 Lite, wherein the former is a flagship product featuring a triple lens while the former is premium mid-range handset priced at Rs. 19,999. Once launched in the country, Nova 3 series will pose a threat to OnePlus 6, Honor 10 and others in the market.
Huawei Nova 3 and Nova 3i smartphones carry a similar design that of Huawei P20 Lite featuring a notch on the top of the display, thinner chin and aurora finish at the rear. Both the handsets come with 6.3-inch LCD display panel with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. However, the devices vary on the terms of memory, optics and processor. The Nova 3 will come powered by Kirin 970 chipset also seen on Huawei P20 Pro, which will be coupled with 6GB RAM and option for either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. In terms of camera, the smartphone sports a dual rear camera setup featuring 16MP primary coloured sensor and a 24MP secondary black and white sensor. Upfront, the Nova 3 also comes with the dual front camera setup featuring 24MP and 2MP sensors.
Talking about Nova 3i, the mid-range handset from Huawei will be powered by Kirin 710 SoC configured with up to 6GB of RAM and up to the 128GB inbuilt memory. In the camera department, the Nova 3i will also carry a dual camera at the back featuring 16MP primary sensor and 2MP secondary sensor. The smartphone will even get dual cameras upfront with 24MP selfie snapper assisted by a 2MP depth sensor. As far as the battery backup is concerned, the Nova 3 handset will be backed by 3750 mAh battery while the Nova 3i will carry 3340 mAh battery. On the pricing front, the Nova 3 handset is expected to be priced up to Rs. 30,000 while the Nova 3i could see a price tag of up to Rs. 22,500.
