Huawei Mate Xs Foldable Phone With Kirin 990 5G Launching By March 2020

Huawei, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, launched its foldable phone - Huawei Mate X in China with a price tag of 16,999 Yuan, which is around $2400. The phone manufacturer also revealed its plans to launch more foldable phones by next year. Moreover, the company will be commencing the retails for Mate X from November 15. As per the report from DroidHolic, Huawei is expected to launch Huawei Mate Xs by March 2020. It is important to note that the forthcoming Huawei Mate Xs will be an upgrade over the Mate X as it is likely to be equipped with the Kirin 990 5G chipset. As far as the design of Mate Xs is concerned, the foldable phone will be very identical to the regular version of Huawei Mate X. But, the phone will come powered by a more powerful processor, which is likely to be Kirin 990 5G SoC. It is important to note that the new Kirin 990 5G chipset is developed on the new 7nm+ EUV prices that comes with integrated 5G modem in comparison to the external ones seen on Kirin 980 powering the Mate X. Reportedly, the Chinese phone brand is following in the footsteps of Apple as far as the naming terminology is concerned. Firstly, Apple introduced iPhone X and then upgraded it with iPhone XS last year. Now Huawei is following the same naming pattern for its upcoming Mate Xs phone. Though the phone won't be a massive upgrade over the Mate X, however, it will be seen with more powerful chipset with an integrated 5G modem. Apart from the chipset details, there is no official word on the specifications that will be seen on the Mate Xs. So, we will have to wait for an official statement from the company on the same. With the number of manufacturers focusing on foldable devices, it is not difficult to speculate that we would be seeing more foldable smartphones by the year 2020.
