It was earlier this week, when Huawei officially revealed 4 new smartphones at an event in London. Called as Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, Mate 20 X and Porsche Design Mate 20 RS. Now, the company is gearing up to launch the new Mate 20 Pro smartphone in India. The arrival details of the smartphones for the domestic market were not revealed at the event. However, a teaser page went live on Amazon India hinting that the smartphone will be launched soon. The page also gets "notify me" option, wherein the prospect customers will be notified regarding the launch date, pricing and sale details.
The main underline of the smartphone will carry a triple rear camera module along with an edge-to-edge display. The display will also feature a notch that houses front camera with 3D depth-sensing capabilities. The device will also sport fast charging as well as reverse wireless charging.
The handset will flaunt a 6.39-inch OLED panel with 3120×1440 pixels of resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the Mate 20 Pro will be powered by in-house developed octa-core HiSilicon 980 SoC. The device will also feature dedicated NPU for performing AI enabled tasks. The SoC will be coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB inbuilt storage. Moreover, the device is also expected to support expandable storage option via microSD card. For photography, the smartphone will be feature a triple camera module featuring 40MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. The second camera will be a 20MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture with ultra-wide angle lens. The third snapper will be an 8MP snapper with telephoto lens for portrait mode as well as optical zoom.
The smartphone will be backed by a 4200 mAh battery with fast charging as well as wireless charging capabilities. For connectivity, the smartphone will include dual SIM card slots, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and Bluetooth, USB Type-C and IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. As far as the software is concerned, the smartphone will run Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 skin on top.
