Twitter's new hide comments feature was rolled out in Canada in July and was exclusively meant for the country. The feature gives one a "Hide Reply" option that will enable you to hide replies from other users. You can opt for this instead of blocking or muting such people whose replies you want to hide. "We're testing a feature to hide replies from conversations. This experience will be available for everyone around the world, but at this time, only people in Canada can hide replies to their tweets," Twitter Support said. Since the feature was only rolled out in Canada, director of product management at Twitter Canada, Sara Haider who goes by the handle name @pandemona asked for feedbacks online. She tweeted out asking for anyone who has used the feature to send her a direct message telling her about their experiences.

Important Characteristics of The New Twitter "Hide Reply" Feature:
- You can now simply "hide replies" of people you don't want instead of blocking them.
- However, when the comment is hidden, other users will be able to click on "View Hidden Tweets" tool to look at the hidden tweets.
- Twitter's senior product manager says the new tools will be tested publicly "in the coming months."
- The new feature lets users "notice and calls out situations where people use the feature to hide content they disagree with."
- Looking out for feedback Sara Haider wrote on Twitter on August 13: "If you’re in Canada and have used this feature (or even if you’ve decided not to use it)…we’d love to hear from you about your experience. DM me??"
How to Activate The "Hide Reply" Feature:
- Spot the tweet you want to hide
- Click on the three dots on the right-hand side top end of the tweet.
- Check out for "Hide Reply" option and click on it.
- You will get the message that the reply has been hidden.
- You can unhide the reply by clicking on the Hidden replies option that is visible to everyone.
- Click on it and spot the unhide reply button.
- The reply will be unhidden.

The feature will soon be rolled out in other countries as well. This comes soon after Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said earlier in February that Twitter was "looking at" a feature that would allow users to edit their tweets, while keeping the original version of the post publicly viewable. "You could build it such that maybe we introduce a five-second to 30-second delay in the sending, and within that window, you can edit."
