Online Streaming services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hotstar are among the hot on-demand video providers that have managed to connect with the users. As the demand for online streaming services increasing day-by-day, Hotstar has decided to increase the price for the premium monthly subscription by Rs 100. Previously, the monthly subscription was made available at Rs 199, which can be availed at Rs 299. The company hasn't announced the exact reason behind the price hike. The company increased the prices for the monthly subscription pack after the first episode of Game of Thrones, which is available exclusively on the platform. It seems like the company is pushing its users to opt for the yearly subscription pack which costs Rs 999. It is important to note that Hotstar has not increased the prices for the yearly pack. Last year, Hotstar reduced the price for the monthly subscription as well as yearly plans to Rs 199 and Rs 999 respectively.

According to the market report, Hotstar will be offering Disney+ content in India as a part of newly announced streaming service. After acquiring 21st Century Fox last month, Disney is the new owner of Hotstar.

The company, on the other hand, is also offering new Hotstar VIP yearly membership at a price of Rs 365. It is important to note that the VIP subscribers will not able to watch the English web series on the platform. The VIP membership offers access to Hotstar’s Special series, regional series and live sports on the platform.
