Honor Play With Kirin 970 AI SoC Launching in India on August 6; Will Be Sold Online Exclusively on Amazon
Honor Play smartphone is slated to launch in India on August 6, which will be retailed online as Amazon Exclusive.
After launching Honor 9N smartphone in India this week, Huawei’s sub brand is now gearing up for the launch of a smartphone in India. To be christened as Honor Play, the Chinese smartphone maker will be launching the high-end smartphone on August 6. The smartphone will be sold in India as an Amazon exclusive like all Honor smartphones, as a teaser image was posted on the e-commerce website.
Going by the listing, the smartphone is expected to sport GPU Turbo technology along with Kirin 970 SoC. Moreover, the technology will be introduced for enhancing the overall gaming experience by boosting performance of the device by 60 per cent. The technology will also play an essential role in cutting down the power consumption by 30 per cent.
For optics, the device will be stacked with a dual camera module at the rear in combination of 16MP and 2MP sensors, while the front shooter will be a 16MP sensor with AI recognition and augmented features. To be backed by 3750 mAh battery, the smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo based on EMUI 8.1. The connectivity features on the handset include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port.
As far as the prices are concerned, the company has not revealed the prices for the devices yet. Taking the Chinese prices into consideration, the Honor Play is priced at RMB 1999 (around Rs 21,300) for the base 4GB RAM variant whereas the 6GB RAM version is priced at RMB 2,399 (approximately Rs 24,300).
