Mumbai, June 15: The Chinese smartphone maker Honor has launched its first flip phone, Magic V Flip, in China. The foldable smartphone comes with a 4-inch cover screen, almost the largest offered on a flip phone in the segment. Honor is currently accepting pre-orders for the flip phone, and is scheduled for sale in China starting June 21. Prices for the handset begin from CNY 4,999 (around Rs. 57,500) for the base 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB RAM + 512 storage and 12GB + 1TB storage variants cost CNY 5,499 (around Rs. 63,000) and CNY 5,999 (around Rs. 69,000) respectively. Infinix Note 40 5G India Launch Date Confirmed for June 21.

The company also offers a special Magic V Flip Haute Couture Edition, which comes in 16GB+1TB configuration with customisation options and has a price tag of CNY 6,999 (around Rs. 80,000). The company has yet to announce the availability of Honor Magic V Flip outside the home market. Honor Magic V Flip comes in three colours - Camellia White, Champagne Pink and Iris Black.

Specification-wise, the flip phone sports a 6.8-inch FHD+ LTPO OLED primary display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, an aspect ratio of 21:9, and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The standout feature is its secondary display, which is a 4-inch LTPO OLED cover screen supporting over 40 applications. Honor Magic V Flip draws power from Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor paired up to 16GB of RAM. It’s worth noting it’s the same chipset seen on the 2022 Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Honor Magic V Flip phone gets a dual rear camera unit, which includes a 50MP primary lens supporting OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle macro lens. The front camera is a 50MP Sony IMX816 snapper for selfies and video calls. It packs a 4,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. The company claims that the battery can be fully charged from 0 per cent in 42 minutes. It runs on MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14 OS.
