New Delhi, July 27: Elon Musk-run X, has introduced a new security feature that allows users to control whether their public posts are used to train Grok, the AI search assistant. The feature is first available on the web platform, with plans to extend it to the mobile version soon. Grok is an AI search assistant available to X Premium and Premium+ subscribers, who can use it to search for information and get answers.

On July 26, X Safety (@Safety) provided important details regarding a new privacy feature that allows all X users to have control over the usage of their public posts for training Grok. The security feature is an addition to the existing controls that allow users to determine whether their interactions, inputs, and results associated with Grok can be utilised. All X users now have the option to decide whether their public posts can be used to train Grok AI. Currently, the setting is accessible on the web platform and will soon be made available on mobile devices. Elon Musk Announces Starlink Internet Operational on Over 1,000 Aircraft, Says Using It Feels Like High-Speed Ground Fibre Connection.

How Does Grok AI Search Assistant Work

According to the information on the official website, Grok-1 uses a next-token prediction model. This type of model predicts the next word or symbol that is likely to come after a given piece of text. Grok-1 was pre-trained by xAI using various text data from publicly available sources on the Internet up until the third quarter of 2023. The data sets were also reviewed and curated by human AI Tutors. Importantly, Grok-1 has not been pre-trained on data from X, which includes public posts from the platform.
