The Play Store offers mobile apps that fall under many categories: entertainment, shopping, messaging, finance, food, health and fitness, and more. Google Play has over 3 million mobile apps, offering users more choices. 

Every week, Google Play Store updates the list of free apps in its Top Charts based on the frequency of downloads. This week, the platform has also ranked the most downloaded applications higher in the list. Last week, Meesho was the most downloaded app in the Google Play Store Top Free Apps List. PhonePe was the second most downloaded app, followed by Flipkart in third place, Zepto in fourth place, and Instagram in fifth place. Meesho

Meesho has been at the top for weeks, and this week, it also secured the top position in the Google Play Store's Top Free Apps List. The homegrown e-commerce app offers a wide range of lifestyle products to customers. Customers can buy clothes from categories like ethnic and Western wear for men, kids and women. Besides the clothes, Meesho offers the customers products for home & kitchen, beauty & health, bags & footwear, jewellery & accessories and electronics. Meesho has over 500 million downloads, a 4.5-star rating and 4.48 million customer reviews on Google Play store.

WhatsApp 

Meta's instant messaging app WhatsApp is ranked second, and it has been used by nearly 2.78 billion users worldwide. With such a huge user base, WhatsApp Messenger has made instant chatting, video calls and calls possible. The mobile app is free for all users and has over 500 crore downloads on Google Play. The app has a 4.1-star rating and 19.8 crore reviews from global users. Recently, WhatsApp rolled out Meta AI, offering free and instant access to artificial intelligence and various new updates to users. 

Instagram 

Instagram from Meta is a popular social media app that allows users to share photos, videos, and stories and make old and new connections. Instagram reels have made the platform more popular, allowing influencers, stars, and common people to entertain the audience with short videos. Meta's Instagram is updated with new features and AI capabilities, offering customers more out of the platform. With 500 crore downloads and 4.3 ratings, the app holds the third spot in the Google Play Store Top Free Apps List.  

Zepto 

10-minute grocery delivery app Zepto has gained fifth spot in this week's Google Play Store Top Free Apps List. Customers use this quick commerce app to order items like fruits and vegetables, and the company promises to deliver within 10 minutes. Besides, Zepto has integrated with over 500+ top brands for various products at the lowest price. The app has over five crore downloads, a 4.6-star rating, and 8.9 lakh reviews. 

Truecaller 

Truecaller is on the seventh spot this week in the list of the most downloaded free apps on Google Play. The application helps users identify and block unknown callers and record conversations. Truecaller helps people search for phone numbers, manage their call history, and filter calls from telemarketers, spammers, and more. Google Play records more than 100 crore downloads of this app, along with a 4.4-star rating and 2.33 crore reviews. Google Play Store Top Free Apps List: Meesho, Flipkart, JioCinema, PhonePe and Snapchat Among the Most Downloaded Play Store Apps This Week.

India's e-commerce platform, Flipkart, is fourth in the list of the most downloaded free applications. The financial service provider PhonePe has secured the sixth spot. Seekho has moved back from last week's seventh spot to eight, and on the ninth, there is the Instagram Lite version. Snapchat gained 10th position this week as the most downloaded free app on the Google Play Store.
