Mumbai, August 11: The Google Pixel 9 series is set to be launched in India at the 'Made by Google' event on August 14, 2024, with notable changes in the design, upgraded specifications and features compared to the Google Pixel 8 series. The upcoming series includes Google Pixel 9, Google Pixel 9 Pro, Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold models. Out of these four models, the tech giant has confirmed only two models for the Indian market - Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold on its website listing.

Compared to the Pixel 8 series, the new smartphones will have several hardware changes and increased performance. The AI is expected to be at the forefront of the event, with the tech giant announcing new features and integration of the Gemini AI chatbot. The Google Pixel 9 series is expected to house a Tensor G4 chipset for increased performance. Besides, these Pixel smartphones will have a new camera design, screen size, and a back panel with a matte black finish. The overall design of the smartphone is similar to the Pixel 8 models. As per reports, the smartphones may offer faster-charging speeds with their 30W or 45W adapters.

Google Pixel 9 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Specifications and Features (Expected)

Google Pixel 9 Pro will have a flat frame design, along with an "island-style" camera module and front camera. It is expected to launch with a Sony IMX858 sensor that offers telephoto capabilities and ultra-wide-angle shots. Google Pixel 9 Fold Pro, on the other hand, would have a squircle camera design on the rear and a front-facing camera. The display on this foldable phone may be taller. The peak brightness of the display is expected to be 1,800 nits on the cover display with HDR, and the display inside could offer 1,600 nits of brightness. Both these smartphones are expected to have Gemini AI features such as "Add Me," an improved "Best Take" feature, and several others.
