The much-awaited Google Pixel 8a affordable smartphone has been officially unveiled. The latest smartphone in the Pixel 8 series is priced in India at Rs. 52,999. Google's budget smartphone comes in two variants - 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB, where the latter costs Rs. 59,999. The phone will be available for pre-order in India on May 7 at 9:30 PM via Flipkart. Interested customers can purchase the device online via an e-commerce platform starting May 14. Key highlights of the phone are a 120Hz display, a 64MP dual rear camera, a Tensor G3 SoC, and a bunch of AI features.

Google says that the Pixel 8a is the most durable A-series smartphone ever made, featuring a sturdy metal frame, scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3, and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. As for specifications, the Google Pixel 8a sports a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel has a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, 1400 nits of brightness, and support for HDR. It’s powered by a Google-developed Tensor G3 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM. For optics, the Google Pixel 8a sports a dual rear camera module comprising a 64MP primary shooter accompanied by a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The phone gets a 13MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It supports 4K recording up to 64 fps with slow-mo and time-lapse. The phone is backed by a 4,492 mAh battery that supports wired and wireless charging up to 18W. It's worth noting that there’s no bundled charging adapter in the box.
