As per a new report, the upcoming Pixel 8 smartphones will be giving a miss to the physical SIM card slots in favour of eSIM. It is being said that through an eSIM, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be able to connect to their carrier without the need of a physical SIM card, similar to the Apple iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models in the US. Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro Smartphone Details
An eSIM is a digital equivalent of a physical SIM card. The eSIMs come embedded inside the devices and lets the users to connect to their network without the need of a physical SIM card. On the other hand, the Pixel 8 vanilla and Pixel 8 Pro models' render images have been also leaked quite some time back. In accordance with these images, tipsters claim that the Pixel 8 series might come with only eSIM support and completely make do with the physical SIM card slots. However, as per some of the renders released recently by another tipster, these next-gen premium smartphones from Google will feature a SIM card tray on its left side. Hence, the renders and the speculations are contradictory in nature.
