Google, a leading tech giant is all set to launch the new Pixel 3 smartphones in the global market today at an event in New York. The launch event of the third generation Pixel smartphones is slated to commence today at 11 AM ET (around 8 PM IST). Expected to run latest Android 9.O Pie, the new Pixel 3 smartphones will sport a traditional design, which is seen on previous Pixel devices. However, the bigger Pixel device will sport a notched display. Also, the company will also be offering the new Pixel smartphones in multiple colour options. As far as the specifications are concerned, the new Pixel 3 XL smartphone will feature a 6.3-inch display screen with 1440 X 2880 pixels of resolution while the smaller Pixel 3 will get a 5.5-inch display panel with 1080 X 2160 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, both the devices will be powered by Qualcomm's flagship octa core chipset - Snapdragon 845 SoC that will be mated to 4GB of RAM. The company might introduce the Pixel 3 series in 2 variants - 64GB and 128GB variants without memory expansion. For photography, the smartphones are speculated to sport same set of camera modules seen on Pixel 2 devices. The rear camera will be the same single 12.2MP AI enabled shooter with new feature called Top Shot. The new feature is similar to scene optimizer feature offered on Samsung's Galaxy Note 9 flagship device. At the front, the smartphones will carry a dual 8MP sensors for video chats and selfies. The company is expected to commence the pre-orders for the smartphones immediately after the unveil event. Moreover, the tech giant is expected to launch the next generation Pixel devices in India on October 22 in a separate launch event.
