Google, the American technology major reportedly seems to be rolling out dark themed version of Google Photos app on Android Pie. Instead of locking it for the upcoming Android Q version, it is good to see the company brought the feature to the older version of the OS. It is important to note that this is not the first time when Google officially introduced dark mode theme on Google Photos app. To recall, the company initially brought the same feature to the official Android Q system-wide toggle. The company rolled out dark themed version of Google Photos app after introducing the dark-themed Keep and Google Calendar. As per the Reddit users, it is believed that there is no manual toggle to enable the dark mode theme in the apps. However, the apps seems to be following the developer option in the settings app. It is also reported that the apps seem to follow default setting option on OnePlus as well as Samsung handsets.
Coming to the dark theme mode, it is believed that Google is not opting for full black version instead it has opted for dark gray background. Moreover, the search bar in the app, which is positioned on the top is merged with the status bar. Additionally, the navigation bar at the bottom has received a lighter shade.
However, if you are wondering why you haven’t received the dark theme mode on Google Photos app, well this is because it seems to be a server-side change. This means that there is no need for a separate or a newer app update for trying and finding. It is also important to note that this dark mode is not available for all the users right now.
