The update is expected to streamline the way users conduct meetings by automating the process of note-taking and allowing participants to focus more on discussions rather than documenting them.
The tech giant is making Google Meet user-friendly by addressing a common difficulty in virtual meetings to keep track of important points by introducing this feature. the new feature will automatically take notes during meetings and organize them in Google Docs. As per the information available on the official support page, Google is gradually rolling out the “Take Notes for Me” feature in Google Meet to users across the globe. The new feature will automatically generate meeting notes and summarise key points discussed during the meeting. Users can expect to receive a summary of the meeting right after it ends by reducing the need for manual note-taking of important details. The feature integrates with Google Workspace to make it easier for users to share and access meeting notes across different Google apps.
How To Use Google Meet Take Notes for Me Feature
The feature will be available for certain Google Workspace including the Gemini Enterprise add-on, Gemini Education Premium add-on, and AI Meetings & Messaging add-on. To use the feature, meetings should be conducted in English, which can be accessed on a computer or laptop.
During a meeting, notes are automatically added to a new document and shared with people who are invited to the meeting within your organisation. Only the host and co-hosts can control the starting and stopping of note-taking when host controls are enabled. users can manually refresh the summary of the notes. If needed, participants can stop and restart taking notes to exclude any confidential discussions from the meeting summary. The meeting notes document will be created and saved in the organiser's Google Drive folder. The organiser and the person who enabled the feature receive an email with a link to the notes document. The notes document will also attached to the Google Calendar event and can be accessed by internal meeting invitees.
